They call me Blacket was made in collaboration with Tocal Homestead as part of the This Here Then Now (THTN) project. THTN was conceived by Arts Upper Hunter and developed in partnership with local museums. This was made possible by the Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund, which supports the arts in regional and remote Australia, the NSW Government and C B Alexander Foundation/Tocal Homestead.
Supported by contributions from narrator Tim Mallon, composer Ryley Gillen, Sandra Earle of Tocal Homestead and local historians Kathryn Hopson and Cameron Archer.
This immersive animation explores Blacket Barn's history through Fuller's signature drawing-animation style.
Part of Arts Upper Hunter’s This Here Then Now project, a Creative Valleys initiative. The work presents the poetic narrative of this architectural treasure—designed by renowned church architect Edmund Blacket and built after a devastating fire in 1867. Fuller’s work weaves together the lives and stories connected to this historic structure.
The resulting animation was presented in the Stone Barn Stables of the Tocal Homestead during Tocal Field Days 2025.
