Todd Fuller graduated from Sydney’s National Art School in 2010, since then he has established himself as an exciting artist, curator and educator.
Fuller’s practice integrates sculpture, animation, drawing, performance and painting to construct layered, multi-disciplinary narratives. He explores themes of the human condition, the body in motion and perceptions of queer identities. Fuller has exhibited across Australia and abroad including the United States, Rome, South Korea, Bangladesh, England and Singapore and has undertaken international residency to the Cité International Des Arts in Paris and the British School at Rome. He has also undertaken domestic residencies to Bunadanon, Grafton, Hill End and Blacktown. Fuller was awarded an honourable mention at the 15th Asian Art Biennale and in 2013 was appointed Art Fellow at Sydney Grammar School.
With his interests also spanning into curatorship and arts production, Fuller has held positions as a Gallery and Curatorial assistant at Waverly Council, seasonal lecturer at the Whitehouse Institute of Design, Co-Director and Curator for Sculpture in the Vineyards, Education and Touring Manager for dLux Media Arts, Events, Education and Online co-ordinator for the Biennale of Sydney and Curatorial consultant for Cessnock Regional Gallery. In 2016 Fuller co-curated Just Draw with Lisa Woolfe. This exhibition travelled from Newcastle Art Gallery to Bathurst Regional Art Gallery, showcasing artworks that reveal the varied nature of contemporary drawing practices. Fuller was also a part of the curatorial team for Scanlines by dLux Media Art which was experienced 18000 visitors across 12 venues over 4 years. Fuller is also one half of the art/dance hybrid Flatline, whose success includes international film screenings, an acquisition from Grafton Regional Gallery, multiple performances and a solo exhibition (2014), as well as residencies at Blacktown Performing Arts Centre and Bundanon Trust.
As an educator, Fuller specialises in the delivery of hands on art making programs and the development of educational resources, talks and lectures. Organisations seeking Todd’s clients and employers in this area have included the Biennale of Sydney, National Gallery of Australia, National Art School, Whitehouse institute of Design, Kaldor Public Art Projects, d/Lux Media, the State Library of New South Wales.
